The latest stop for the YO! What Happened to Peace exhibit is San Francisco, for three nights the show was up at the Jack Hanley gallery in the San Francisco Mision. The exhibit, curated by John Carr, has been running since 2002 and was organized to bring together artists to show their opposition to the war in Iraq. The exhibit features beautiful hand-crafted prints made by artists from around the US.
During this installation of the exhibit John rounded up some Bay Area artists to do some live screen-printing to give away during the night and to put in the streets. Each night different artists brought their screens and pulled prints to give away to the public, on Saturday night I helped pull 5 of the 9 posters. It was a lot of fun hanging out with Art Hazelwood, Doug Minkler, Ron Donavan and various artists that were hanging out there throughout the night.
As part of the Exhibit, a catalogue has been published featuring over 220 of the prints that are featured in the exhibit, with an embossed and die-cut cover that can be used as a stencil.
