CENTER FOR POLITICAL EDUCATION

Center for Political Education often puts into focus the work of Amílcar Cabral, the African revolutionary and theorist who helped lead the liberation struggles in Guinea-Bissau in the mid to late 20th century. Cabral co-founded the PAIGC (Partido Africano da Independência da Guiné e Cabo Verde), the revolutionary party at the forefront of the decolonial struggles against Portugal. The quote here is taken from Cabral’s writing in a piece that’s often remembered for the incomparable directive Cabral gave other revolutionaries to, “tell no lies, claim no easy victories.” Cabral and the PAIGC were renowned for their commitment to political education in revolutionary struggle, and the quote in this print embodies that and has been a bit of a mantra for CPE over the years: “Learn from life, learn from our people, learn from books, learn from the experience of others. Never stop learning.”
