Hummingbird Farm is a roughly 6 acre site in the Crocker Amazon neighborhood of San Francisco that PODER (People Organized to Demand Environmental and Economic Rights) has remediated and stewards. The farm hosts regular community events and work days and is a result of the long term and ongoing land reclamation campaign PUEBLOTE (pueblo meaning people or community, and lote meaning lot or land). This piece was adapted from a photo of a young volunteer showcasing the dirt on their hands and the smile on their face.
