This poster is inspired by a case study from SOUL’s Young People and Collective Action movement history curriculum. The image was created from a newspaper photo, now in the public domain, of the First Quarter Storm in the Philippines, an uprising of students and workers against dictatorship in 1970. The young women depicted here are defying police and school administrators to demonstrate their solidarity with the popular struggle.
