Spring Greetings from Seva Foundation! We are very excited to welcome our 1st annual Bay Area Native Health Fair “Healthy People, Healthy Cultures, Healthy Lands”, on Saturday June 2, 2012 at the East Oakland Sports Center and Brookfield-Ira Jenkins Recreation Center. In addition to being an enriching cultural experience, the event will be free to the Bay Area community and will benefit the Native American Community Health Program.

10:00am to 11:00am: Instructor-led Native American dance classes: Fancy Shawl and Grass Dance

10:00am to 11:00am: Yoga

10:00am to 12:00pm: Chair massages and health screenings

10:30am to 2:30pm: Children’s Corner with teacher-led basket weaving, seed planting, reading area with Eagle Books (a Native health children’s book series), and media center

11:00am to 12:00pm: Instructor-led Zumba class

11:00am to 12:00pm: Field activities

12:00pm to 3:00pm: Native musician performances featuring Jeremy Goodfeather and All Nations Singers. Community health and wellness booths: Native American traditional food booths (free tastings of indigenous foods), environmental organizations, Chef-led kale salad-making corner, hands on nutritional activities, and more!
