We wanted to share the printing process for one of our latest prints, Free Hawai’i designed by Melanie as solidarity statement with the Indigenous people from Hawai’i, and the first in a series that deal with occupied islands. This is a five color screen print on heavy archival paper, check out the pictures below to see the printing process in action as each color is laid down.

These are the colors Melanie picked for the flesh tone and the final color.

This is after the first two colors had been printed, first the sky blue then the light green.

Here the flesh tone is being printed.

Adding the green for the leafs and we’re almost done

Now for the final color, dark green to tie it all together.
