A few years back I worked on a series of posters for the Center for the Study of Political Graphics from various artists, one of them was Emory Douglas. A whila ago Emory called me up to print a poster for Freedom Archives
that would be used to fundraise for the San Francisco 8. The poster design features a man being totrured with cattle rods, bringing to the forefront the fact that many of the men who have been arrested were tortured by police in the 70s. The limited edition was poster was printed to be used as a fundraiser for the San Francisco 8 and the Committee for the Defense of Human Rights.

It was a real honor to print this poster for Emory, who was the Minister of Culture for the Black Panthers. He has created some of the most iconic political posters of the Black Power Movement, including the first poster which I reprinted for CSPG, “All Power for the People”. This is not just another powerful poster for Emory’s portfolio, but most importantly it is being used to help his fellow ex Panthers.
